T-Mobile has set two Guinness World Records to coincide with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus tomorrow.
The T-Mobile team broke the record for the “fastest text on a touchscreen mobile phone while water skiing” using one of Samsung’s new handsets—though it didn’t mention the time it achieved—and also managed the “longest water ski while attached to a blimp” (that one seemingly wasn’t aided by the S9 or S9 Plus, however).
The carrier had been spotted earlier this week trying to break the records on Lake Elsinore, California, where its early attempts had reportedly been hampered by bad weather.
The marketing stunt has hints of the daredevil feats seen in OnePlus’ ads, with both companies marrying device speed (performance or internet) with high-octane activities.
